St. Patrick of the Island Parish has been blessed with a chapel of Perpetual
Eucharistic Adoration since October 1, 1995. In the Jubilee year, the chapel was
designated as a place of pilgrimage by Bishop Lebel who included "a visit to
this chapel in the Jubilee indulgence process". He referred to the chapel as "a gift of God to our diocese and a stirring example for other parishes that
open their church for adoration, despite not always being able to open on a
twenty-four hour basis." Out of the many personal testimonies received, the
recurring theme is evident: the chapel has become for many adorers a focal point
in their lives where they can encounter their Maker who is always ready listen
to their troubles and sorrows and accompany them in their loneliness and
desolation. After an hour in the chapel people come away with an inner feeling
of peace, joy, sweet consolation which they radiate to others in their home and
work environment. It is also a place to give thanksgiving for graces and
blessings received from the Lord. St. Patrick of the Island Parish community
sees itself as the host parish for not only its own members but for those of all
the surrounding parishes of the region offering the exposed Real Presence of Our
Lord at all times. As long as we are faithful, He is always there for us.
What is Eucharistic Adoration?
Eucharistic Adoration is an expression of our love for Jesus,
Who for love of us humbled Himself by making Himself present under the
appearance of bread in the consecrated host. For he said, "Behold I am with
you always" (Mt. 28:20).
What is Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration?
Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is simply our response to
Jesus’ love for us. We respond to this love by spending a quiet holy hour of
prayer with Jesus exposed in the Most Blessed Sacrament at any time of the
day or night, 7 days a week. Jesus is never left alone
and the chapel is always left open for anyone to visit Him.

Could you not watch one hour with me? (Mt:26:40)
This very question which Jesus asked his closest apostles,
Peter, James and John, over 2,000 years ago, is now being asked of us. Could
you not watch one hour with Jesus? Jesus waits for us day and night calling
each one of us: "Come to me all who labour and are burdened and I will give
you rest" (Mt. 11:28)

Our Holy Father asks for it!
Through our holy hours of prayer, Pope John Paul II declared
that we are contributing to "the radical transformation of the world", the
"establishing of everlasting peace", and the coming of Christ’s Kingdom on
earth. The Eucharist brings peace to all hearts. And peaceful hearts make a
peaceful world!

What are the fruits?
With each holy hour we spend in the presence of Jesus in the
Most Blessed Sacrament we grow in holiness, receive strength of faith, guidance,
encouragement, joy, inspiration, sweet consolation and peace of heart and mind.
Communally, an increase in mass attendance, conversions, and vocations to the
priesthood and religious life are among the fruits of Perpetual Eucharistic
Adoration.
